Yesterday was inaugurated in Bologna Artelibro , festival of the art book. The initiative is in its second edition and has seen a marked increase its size. The inauguration was held in the magnificent Chapel in the Palazzo Farnese D'Accursio, the presence of Mayor Cofferati and the coordinator of the exhibition, Philippe D'Aveiro . Obviously, I was in the audience and I watched with pleasure the intervention of D'Aveiro who stressed that, in a particularly difficult moment for us, the only resources on which we focus are cultural ones, and that only in Italy, Bologna is a city at the forefront in the promotion of events that can exploit these resources ...

Mondadori launched a few weeks ago, a new editorial services attached to many of his weekly group is the collection of The Meridiani . For the uninitiated The Meridians are a series of elite that gathers the best of Italian and foreign literature on the model of French Pleiade.

Well, I run at newsstands to grab the first exit in a promotional offer to € (the first volume of the works of Hemingway) convinced of the goodness of the initiative: the library, except in rare promotions, each volume of the collection has a substantial cost (about € 40 ). Many of you already know who attended the Faculty of Communication Sciences to Bologna. This year I passed a rather interesting question: Semiotics of New Media.

The matter is still lacking important academic work and examination procedures providing for the establishment an essay on the analysis, conducted with semiotic tools, a multimedia hypertext (such as, for example, a web site). I have dealt with the analysis of a site that is dedicated to providing surfers access to the most comprehensive database on world cinema ( www.imdb.com).

In my dissertation, I proposed some interesting conclusions that define the type of use of the site, dividing people into well-defined categories.
